Rio Carnival 2019
What began as pagan festival celebrated in honor of the gods during the early 15th century is now known as the Rio Carnival. What is Capoeira?
Capoeirais an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, music, acrobatics, and self-defence in a very elegant and magnetic way. It was developed by African slaves in Brazil at the beginning of the 16th century. It is known for its quick and complex maneuvers, predominantly using power, speed, and leverage across a wide variety of kicks, spins, and other techniques.
Performed by two people, it is often called “Capoeira game” that is played, not fought. The uniqueness of Capoeira will build physical strength, power and flexibility in your body.
