Summer may be coming to an end in North America, but it’ll heat up the Southern Hemisphere at the end of the year, making it the perfect destination for people who wish to defrost their bodies with an alternative method to ten layers of thick clothes.
Brazil is no exception. Its scorching hot sun and shining sea waters all warmly invite you to a surfing session for a once-in-a-lifetime holiday experience. Because even if you’re like Elsa in “Frozen,” and the cold never bothered you anyway, it’s always nice to experience both sides of the spectrum, and Brazil proves to be a popular spot for those who have a need for the hot side. Super popular, in fact! But why is that? How does Brazil stand out as a surfing spot? Let’s dive in and find out, shall we? Surf’s up!
Brazil has a vast range of waves that can cater to all skill levels. This is particularly true for the deep south of the country, especially the island of Santa Catarina, which has the greatest variety of swells. Along with a qualified instructor, even complete beginners can take advantage of the Brazilian surfing experience.
Geographical Composition and Location
As the biggest country in South America, with a coast line of 7500 km half covered in wild and remote tropical jungles that hide hundreds of surfing locations, Brazil has long been a popular practice spot… for international Brazilian surfing champions! That’s right! If they learned it all in Brazil, you can, too!
Not to mention that the borders of the country have quite a lot of beaches to give you an enjoyable view of nature while you show off those balance skills!
You don’t necessarily have to surf like an Olympian to have fun in the water. And even if you do have talent, it won’t matter much until you go out there and express it. As a little birdie once told me, just do it! Don’t be afraid to make the water your stage, and no matter how you end up doing, the important part is to have fun and live a whole new lifetime experience.
Get your boards out and hit those waves! And as always, have a great week and a happy retreat!
