Visiting Seville

Welcome to one of the most charming cities in Spain. Seville’s rich history has left the city stuffed with innumerable monuments. The Gothic Seville Cathedral (3rd largest in the world) is the site of Christopher Columbus’s tomb and a minaret turned bell tower, the Giralda, the wonderful palace of the Reales Alcázares, the magical Barrio of Santa Cruz with its narrow streets, the ornate Alcázar castle complex, built during the Moorish Almohad dynasty, and the 18th-century Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza bullring.  After a few days here, you’ll be hooked on vacations in Spain!

The city of Seville is famous worldwide for its culture, monuments, traditions and artistic heritage. This is the birthplace of Flamenco and the city where the most amazing Easter processions take place. But Seville is also the neuralgic centre of the South of Spain, a city full of life and possibilities.  So you’ll never run out of things to do Seville!

Power Vinyasa Yoga

Yoga is quickly taking over as one of the top worldwide health lifestyle trends.  Vinyasa meaning, “flow” or “to move without resistance,” incorporates interval and cross-training exercises to challenge both the aerobic and anaerobic systems of the body.  Power Vinyasa Yoga is a powerful, energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next while connecting their breathing to their movements.  As your body adapts, it is important to vary the types, intensity and duration of the exercises. Power Vinyasa Yoga incorporates regular sequences that become familiar to students.

This type of yoga is taught in a heated studio which makes it a vigorous and revitalizing form of physical fitness. It incorporates strength, flexibility, balance, cardio and physical and mental stamina in one session.  There are also variations to modify, intensify, or challenge the body by altering the pace or duration of poses, and the frequency that they are repeated. Truly, the benefits of Vinyasa Yoga are numerous and life-altering.

The Added Attraction

While you’re there, visit the legendary Metropol Parasol.  Metropol Parasol is a wooden structure located at La Encarnación square, in the old quarter of Seville, Spain. It was designed by the German architect Jürgen Mayer and completed in April 2011. It has dimensions of 150 by 70 metres (490 by 230 ft) and an approximate height of 26 metres (85 ft) and claims to be the largest wooden structure in the world. Its appearance, location, delays and cost overruns in construction resulted in much public controversy. The building is popularly known as Las Setas de la Encarnación (Incarnation’s mushrooms).
